The Hadanum Saga unfolds in a new episodic format in Hadanum 1: Awakening. Events on the strange alien world of Hadanum first experienced from the perspective of the Jana people in Globe-Hurler continue in over a dozen short episodes planned for release over the next several months. The books feature the continuing stories of characters such as Balon and Koen from Globe-Hurler, and new characters who play a vital role in the precarious situation for the remnants of humanity in a land dominated by sprawling megas. The "magazines" also contain a map indicating the starting point of each episode, lore of Hadanum specific to each episode, and relevant comments from editor Dr. Marc H. Miyake.

Welcome to the World of Hadanum, where hominids, descendants of Earth, struggle to survive on a harsh planet. Harsher and more dangerous yet may be the motives of their fellow colonists ...
What is Hadanum, you ask? It was once known as Rekusa Hachi 5, and is located in a star system in the Ursa Major constellation. In 2761, the nations of Earth agreed to fund an ark project with multiple small ships that the contained DNA and the stored memory of humans. Hundreds of years later, one of these ships limped toward its target star system and was forced to release all of its six dropship segments onto a single planet. There, each of six artificial intelligences would assist with the colonization of the planet by bioforming the humans according to the needs and cultures of each one of the groups that sponsored their own dropship and AI.
The descendents of humanity face a hostile planet that is already host to bizarre alien life forms, and a battle for resources between the hominids only makes things worse. One group of hominids has named the planet Hadanum after their leader, the long-lived giant, Hadan.
In the book Globe-Hurler, one of the hominid groups, the Jana, fight for their survival. They are surrounded by massive megas, organisms that cover the land and sea of the planet, hosts to smaller, but no less terrible creatures. In search of his father, Watchware Balon will find something that will send the Jana, too long dependent on ancient machines from Earth for protection, hurtling into a conflict for which they are not prepared.
In the upcoming book Mind-Breaker, the saga of the hominids of Hadanum will continue .. !

Smashwords was a great way to get my book out to multiple sites. There has been a major delay in the deal being worked out between Amazon and Smashwords, however, despite it being a selectable distribution option at Smashwords.
So I've gone with the Amazon Direct Kindle Publishing route, and Globe-Hurler just became available for purchase at Amazon.com. There you go, that's the reason you needed to buy a Kindle right there! Haha, well, maybe not ...
But not to worry, you do not need a Kindle handheld tablet device to enjoy Kindle store books. You can download and use Kindle for PC , Kindle for Android, or Kindle for Macintosh, for example. There is even a Kindle for iPad application. So chances are, if you're reading this, you can download and read my book. Kindle's .mobi format is just an e-reading format, after all.
You can find the Kindle version of Globe-Hurler HERE, and for folks in other parts of the world, it has been distributed globally, so it should show up in your country specific Amazon store as well.
Thanks and take care,
-Robinson

Since publishing my book Globe-Hurler through Smashwords in April I've been asked several times about the process and what it entails. Now that most of the dust has settled and my book is available in multiple stores across the Internet, it's a good time to reflect on the ups and downs of publishing my own eBook. There are some misconceptions about what Smashwords is exactly, so I hope I can clear those up as well as give you an idea of what awaits you if you decide to publish through Smashwords yourself.
First off, I chose Smashwords as my publisher and distributor, not as an online store to sell my books. Some call using Smashwords "self-publishing" (I've probably called it that myself in the past), but it's not like writing a book and offering it here on my website with a PayPal button and a download link I send you via e-mail. That would be true self-publishing. No, Smashwords is the publisher of Globe-Hurler, not Robinson Mason, and they are not an old-school "vanity press" where authors pay gobs of money for stacks of print books they may or may not be able to sell. Smashwords publishes and distributes your books for free.
